- 80th Street and the Small section of Cty Rd C to get to Raleigh bridge at Rivers Edge
- Meeting with Town of Richmond to open 95th Street and 140th Street to get to Boardman May 11th at 7pm
- We are on the agenda for Star Prairie to open Raleigh Road to connect North and South regions of Somerset Township
Billy Raleigh attended the meeting to discuss opening the Rivers Edge for ATV access to connect to Raleigh Road. He would like the ability to close ATV access during busy times at the campground. We discussed open/close will be at his discretion and the club will work on making signs for that purpose. He would like every Saturday in July closed but will reach out to the club for more official dates.
ATV club asked the Village of Somerset to table the ATV ordinance for the time being and it will go back to the safety committee. It was tabled because of the current provisions we do not agree with in the ordinance. The club will reach out to John Melvin and see what the next steps are.
Greg asked us to call our representatives on the Safety enhancement act. This bill gives funding for patrol ambassadors and other ATV features.
Greg also thanked the club from Andy at Airtech for attending their open house.
Marty brought up the possibility of a petition for getting ATV/UTV riding within Village limits. Possibilities are Change.org, Pea Soup days and going door to door. It would include a cover sheet on our intent and to get out and talk with people about their concerns.
The board asked the club to consider another bacon raffle as a fund raiser. With all the possible new signage and other clubs conceivably needing our help, we will need to raise more money.
Attendee’s asking about ATV classes
Greg answered with his next ATV class which is June 11th at 9:00am. Attendee’s need to be at least 12 years old. The class cost is $10.00 for materials.
ATV/UTV signs are still at Whiplash waiting to be fixed to 35mph. Erv is working on this project.
